This self catering Highland cottage offers well equipped comfortable accommodation with additional facilities: - a cot and high chair available on request, electric storage heating, open fire and electric blankets on the beds to make winter holidays in the Highlands snug and cosy. Linen is available on request for a small charge.
This traditional stone-built farm cottage is situated on a working sheep farm in Glenfender, 1.5miles from the village of Blair Atholl, in a truly tranquil situation with breathtaking panoramic views over historic Blair Castle and the Atholl Valley.
Staying on a farm in the Scottish Highlands offers plenty of opportunities for outdoor activity with home comforts to return to at the end of the day. Attractive and cosy the cottage comprises a sitting room with open fire, Sky TV and a video, a dining room, with seating for 5, and a fitted kitchen with washing machine, electric cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer & toaster.
The bedrooms comprisea double bedroom, and a family bedroom containing a double and a single bed. Ideal accommodation for families or two couples. The bathroom, with WC and basin also has an electric shower over the bath.
Outside
The garden contains garden furniture & a BBQ. Parking is available.
Pets are accepted by arrangement, but please be aware of local livestock in neighbouring fields.
Area
Blair Atholl provides an ideal base from which to explore Scotland and the Scottish Highlands. It has 2 pubs/hotels, 2 shops, a restaurant and a working mill with tea-room. There is also a bowling green where visitors are welcome.
Pitlochry lies only 10 minutes away and here guests find a dam, distilleries, the Festival Theatre and many eateries. 3 miles north House of Bruar (The Harrod's of the North) is a splendid department store packed with useful everyday items and extravagant luxuries with a good cafe, restaurant, ample parking and, sometimes, entertainment too.
There is a 9 hole golf course and an abundance of 18 hole courses within an 40 mile radius. Fishing, cycling & pony trekking can be arranged locally. This area is a walker's paradise with a plethora of marked trails or - for the more adventurous - Munro bagging. Winter sports venues are within driving distance.
Edinburgh is 90 minutes away, St Andrews about 1hour 45minutes distant and Inverness is 2 hours away but the stunning local scenery of Loch Tummel and Queen's View are on your doorstep.
