Situated on the Northern tip of the Isle of Mull in the Hebrides, Glengorm Castle overlooks the Atlantic with views to the Outer Hebrides. The eight individual self catering properties offer superior luxury accommodation in a magnificent rural landscape. The nineteenth century Castle sits at the headland of Glengorm's vast area of coastline, forestry, lochs and hills, in an area famed for its dramatic scenery, tranquillity and natural beauty.

All the cottages and apartments are comfortably furnished and well equipped with every effort made to maintain the high standards. All have electric convector heaters in all the rooms and firewood for open fires is provided by The Estate.

All self catering properties are non smoking. Bed linen, towels and tea towels are provided. Cots can be provided, but guests should provide their own cot bedding.

Sorne Cottages Sleep 6 in 3 bedrooms

These two traditional Scottish cottages are about 100 yards from the Estate Farm reached via a short farm track. Once part of Glengorm School they now provide guests with a peaceful, rural setting. Both self catering cottages are furnished very comfortably, with open fires, which guests are welcome to use.

Each cottage has a double bedroom and 2 twin bedrooms; a sitting room with dining area and TV; a well equipped kitchen including an electric cooker, dishwasher, fridge and microwave; a bathroom with bath with shower. Washing machine and tumble dryer are located in an outhouse.

Rabbits and hares are often seen on the cottage lawns and delightful hill and forest walks await you just a few yards from the front door.

Situated midway between Tobermory and Glengorm, this is the perfect base for the naturalist and the walker. Cnoc Fuar is set in rolling moorland, the haunt of red grouse, hen harrier and golden eagle. Red deer roam the hills above the cottage, while the volcano loch, Lochan 'S Airde Beinn, lays a 30 minute walk away.

The Lodge, which used to be the post office for the estate, is situated at the castle gates with its own garden. In early summer it is surrounded by rhododendrons and foxgloves in bloom.

Inside a cosy wood stove welcomes guests into the sitting/dining room with TV, and the kitchen contains an electric cooker, microwave, fridge, washing machine and tumble dryer. This is the finest accommodation fitted to a five star standard. Situated above the coffee shop, it combines the best aspects of modern living with the unique character of Glengorm and the wild outdoors. Throughout the flat, attention has been paid to detail with an interior inspired by the local surroundings with solid oak, slate, sandstone and leather throughout.

The kitchen has been built for those who are passionate about food. On the doorstep is the Coffee Shop where fresh Glengorm produce from the farm and walled garden are available.

The apartment is fitted with a surround sound DVD system and all channel Sky TV in the living room, with open log fire, and the super king-size bedroom. This apartment is located within the castle, on the ground floor, overlooking the front lawns. It enjoys spectacular views over the North Atlantic to the Outer Hebrides from every room.

The charming sitting room has a TV and CD/DVD. A separate dining room seats 6. There are two twin bedrooms, and a double bedroom. The dramatic bathroom with a shower cubicle features a deep Victorian pedestal bath - perfect for soaking in after a hard day's fishing or walking.

In stunning scenery Glengorm Castle is perfectly situated for bracing walks, wildlife watching and outdoor activities. It is also a delightful wedding venue for which more details can be found on the owners’ web site.

With a farm shop selling fresh produce from the farm and market garden, a modern coffee shop, art gallery and hotel on site there is plenty to do without leaving the estate. However, the Isle of Mull’s natural beauty, beaches, heather-clad hills and abundant wildlife make it a walker’s paradise.

Nearby Tobermory – a 15 minute drive away – is the largest town on the Isle of Mull and offers a good range of shops and services, restaurants, activities and sports.
