	Kilchrist Castle Cottages are four characterful self catering holiday cottages in the renovated Old Byre of Kilchrist. They are idyllically situated on Scotland’s “mainland island”, the Kintyre peninsular, surrounded by rolling countryside only three miles from the sea. The cottages are designed for 2-6 guests and some are non smoking and pet free. In addition there is a small laundry room with a washing machine and tumble drier. Power included in the rent, up to £20 per week.



	Interior

	These recently updated cottages are ideal for a relaxed holiday in a supremely peaceful and friendly location with a fabulous coastline. All the cottages have a colour TV, an open plan living area with a sitting and dining area in each, a shower room and a well-equipped kitchen, including a microwave. All except MacDonald are non-smoking and pet free.

MacLeod is a small detached cottage near to the others. It has a shower room , an all-in-one living area, a good-sized double bedroom, with extra 2’6” bed if needed.

The outlook from MacLeod is towards the castle at one side and the hills at the other. It is light and comfortable, with a newly-fitted kitchen area.

This semi-detached single-storey cottage is furnished in traditional style. It offers a double and a twin bedroom both with views towards the castle. One pet is allowed at no extra charge.

This is the largest of the cottages and has a more spacious living space for dining, cooking and relaxing including two large leather sofas. A big arched window looks towards the castle across a field. A spiral stone staircase leads up to a shower room and the bedrooms - a double and a bunk room for four.

This semi-detached cosy cottage is all on ground floor level. It has an open aspect towards the castle. There are two bedrooms, a double and a single. The living area is open-plan and this cottage has a 'New England' feel.


	Outside

	Parking is in a shared car park adjacent to the cottages, and there is also a shared courtyard with a traditional lamp post and barbecue-cum-chimenea. An acre of land allows plenty of space to spread out for picnics or play games. Good walks can be enjoyed from the door.

	Local area

	Surrounded by rolling countryside, the cottages are only three miles from the sea. A secluded sandy cove can be found even in summer. Also about three miles away is the bustling small town of Campbeltown, which is situated around the famous Campbeltown Loch. Day trips can include island hopping to Arran, Islay, Jura, Gigha, and the small island of Sanda. The Mull of Kintyre itself is a dramatic must see. If you are a walker, golfer, cyclist, surfer or bird/seal/otter watcher then this is prime territory.
