The lodges are of two designs with three bedrooms each. The newer, larger lodges have a cathedral ceiling which gives a more contemporary atmosphere of space and light, ideal for family livingBoth lodge styles have spacious living areas, fully equipped kitchens - including a dishwasher, microwave, fridge, cooker, washing machine and all cutlery, crockery, pots and pans and at least two bath/shower rooms.

Red Kite, Piper's Wood, and Eagle Lodge are all of the same two storey design with a spacious open-plan living area entered from a large veranda at the front. The living room, with its log burning stove, leads through to the dining area and kitchen. In addition to the living area there is ground floor twin bedroom and a bathroom, containing a bath and a shower. Upstairs the master bedroom has its own en-suite bathroom and a pretty covered balcony, from which to enjoy the open views. A further twin bedroom completes the accommodation.

Mountain Lodge, Wildcat Lodge & Rowan Lodge have a spacious sitting room with wood burning stove (free logs), comfortable furniture, natural fabrics and colourful rugs creating a cosy family ambiance. The modern kitchen opens to a comfortable dining room. All the bedrooms are on the ground floor. Mountain Lodge & Wildcat Lodge have two ensuite double bedrooms and a twin room. Rowan Lodge has one double and two twin rooms - 2 ensuite. A loft area is ideal for children with a tv, childrens' videos, comfy leather sofa and bookcase. Double French doors open onto the veranda.

Central heating, logs and electricity are included in the price. Linen and fluffy towels are provided. Both lodges have TVs, DVD and CD players.

The lodges are situated by birch woods, where roe deer and red kites can often be seen, and more occasionally, pine martens and red squirrels.  They are surrounded by a garden area with parking space.

Local area

The log cabins are a short distance along a gravel driveway from the Drynie Park Road. There are shops for everyday items at Muir of Ord, which is a short drive away, or can be reached on foot by tracks through the woods. Muir of Ord has its own rail station operating a local service to Kyle of Lochalsh, Wick and Inverness. A visit to the Glen Ord Distillery is not to be missed - just two miles from the holiday lodges in the village, visitors can watch the distillers at work creating a superb Malt whisky.

Inverness, capital of the Highlands of Scotland, with its shops, restaurants, theatre and museums is only ten miles away. Inverness Airport is 20 minutes drive away. Easy-jet and British Airways offer daily flights from Gatwick, Luton and Glasgow. Car hire is available at the airport and in Inverness.

The nearest mainline station is at Inverness.

Golf, fishing and trips on Loch Ness can be arranged locally.

The Scottish Highlands is one of the true remaining wildernesses in Europe with its majestic scenery and wild life. It stretches from the Cairngorms National Park and Speyside in the south, to the sandy shores of the Moray Firth in the East; north to the Pentland Firth, the strait separating the mainland from Orkney, to the dramatic and rugged west coast where the mountains steeply rise up from the many sea lochs.

A wealth of attractions lie within its boundaries including historic sites: the fishing towns of Lochinver, Ullapool, Mallaig and Gairloch; Castle Urquhart; Loch Ness; and the Caledonian Canal, which runs across the country from east to west.
